By increasing effective height of the flue, the flue stretcher solves 2 problems.
1. Negative house pressure. By adding the flue stretcher to the upstairs flue distances its smoke from the downward pull of the downstairs flue.
2. Increase draft by increasing height and putting flue opening above roofs and other nearby structures.
The one-piece, 8" high screen is heavy, 18-ga., 3/4" mesh, and the top is hand-finished with a rolled edge. The sturdy base also features a one-piece design and includes weld nut technology to prevent stripped threads.
